In the study of Bazi or Phat Chee, the correct understanding of a person’s life lies in the correct understanding of nature. After all, isn’t life all about living in harmony with nature?
The same goes in the study of Bazi, is to first understand what is Nature all about & the interaction of elements of Nature.
Just like we have 4 seasons, night and day, rain and draught, windy and storms, in the study of any Chinese Metaphysics, there are 5 elements that we always refer to. They are Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood because the Chinese believe the world is largely made of these 5 elements. They spent a lot time trying to understand the building blocks of these 5 elements and how they produce, control and deplete each other.
From here, they begin to understand what is the meaning of Prospering in nature and thus translated it into the art of Bazi which lead to the discovery of Noble Elements.
Briefly, I try to explain what are Noble elements. In the element of wood, there are the Yang wood which we call it Jia [甲] and Yin wood or soft wood which we call it Yi [乙].
Yi’s noble element is Jia. Why? Small plants cannot grow and flourish well without depending on the Hard wood or big tree in this case.
Trees provide them the shade, the trunk for them to climb, the leaves to fertilize the soil, provide them stable grounds and much more.
With the correct understanding of nature and each of its corresponding noble elements, then one can read Bazi more correctly.
So what we are looking for is a balanced Nature which is reflected in your Bazi but not balanced of elements. Most schools have this wrong conception that if your Bazi is missing 1 element then your Bazi is no good. This is not true at all.
Then there are other schools that weighs on the balance of elements. For example, if your Bazi is too strong in Earth, they will recommend that you weaken it using Metal or use Wood to control Earth. Again, this is a major misconception in Bazi reading. Analysing destiny using this method can cause flaws in Bazi reading. Can Earth produce Metal? Is this the correct understanding of nature’s workings? Which wood is good in controlling which Earth and at the same time makes it useful?
If one understands nature and its ultimate goal, one shall understand life and have the correct way in destiny analysis.
