Motivation or Destiny

There has been a hot debate and apparently two struggles in the current BaZi market and that is between the traditionalist and contemporary practitioners. Of course over the years of effort, I am happy to note that the Traditional school has once been given more attention.

I attribute this to a few reasons. Many of my clients actually became my students over time. I think this is one of the strongest testimony of the ability of the Traditional school in particular this Nature’s Way of BaZi, how it has helped them over the years. They usually consult me more than one chart so it is not a fluke shot thing but rather there is repeatability of the result.

This is what the old saying of Actions speaks louder than Words! Need no marketing, they join the classes because they have seen it with their eyes. Same goes for our Feng Shui classes.

A Hope

Second reason, I believed is because the contemporary school leans too much into motivation. It is good to give people hope and I support that but what people need is more than just hope. They need the truth!

Sometimes contemporary falsely blinded themselves. This is the joke of the modern Bazi. Some masters have good Bazi but because he/she is not well versed in traditional Bazi, this made them believed they have bad Bazi but somehow in reality, they are successful. How do even you reconcile this? Motivation or learned new skills!

Thus out of this they conclude that traditional way of Bazi reading is out, with proper motivation and learned skills anyone can succeed big time. If you are reading this and you have joined some of these BaZi schools, ask yourself honestly, how many of those around you or perhaps yourself have changed tremendously over the years?

If what they think is correct, then why do I want to learn BaZi? Just hire a business or success coach and make me successful. Why spend time and money into BaZi then in the end I would still have to motivate myself and acquire some new skills in HOPE of being successful?

What Is The Truth?

Strategy Using BaZi

Donald Trump was born 14 June 1946 during the Si 巳 Hour or Snake hour and thus his 4 pillars of destiny or Bazi is shown below.

Natal Chart of Donald Trump

Bazi destiny reading is divided into 3 major parts. They are namely the Natal Chart, the Major Luck and the Minor Luck or sometimes commonly known as annual lucks. To any person, the most influential of the 3 is of course the Natal Chart followed by the Major Luck cycle. Major luck cycle changes every 10 years but to different people, it begins at different times of their lives. Some may start the luck at the age of 2 while some at the age of 9 for example.

Looking at the history of Donald Trump’s road to White House, he started to have this idea as early as 1988 but it becomes more evident in and around 2009. However, he dropped the idea during the 44th Presidential election (2011) but decided to pursue it this round.

Could it be that he thought he had better chance against Hillary over Obama? Well we can only guess what is in his mind.

The question is why in this 45th presidential election that he is so confident to enter the race to be the president? There could be many other reasons for that but let’s look at the Chinese astrology point of view or Bazi point of view and what it can offer.

In 2013, he is already into the major luck of Xin Chou 辛丑. So is Xin Chou better than the previous luck of Geng Zi 庚子 ?

To understand this, first we have to understand his Natal Chart.

Donald Trump Natal Chart

He is a Ji 己 earth day master and a pretty strong one too. His chart has no water element at all. Water element is Wealth to Donald. Thus many practitioners and students of BaZi is pretty puzzled over his chart that a person without water (wealth) element in the chart can be a Billionaire!

So how does it goes about? Well some practitioners classify his as Thriving Chart. A Thriving Chart is supposed to be without Officer. They say this is the case because they rationale that the Officer element of Jia 甲 is combined with the Day Master Ji 己 and has transformed. Firstly this is not really correct because the Day Master cannot be transformed away.

No Wealth Element

Bazi has many usages. One of it to tell our life potential apart from life path, our character etc. Bazi astrology is divided into 2 major part. First is the Destiny chart or sometimes called the Natal chart or in chinese is called the Ming Pan. The 2 part is the Luck cycle. Luck is again divided into 2 parts, the Major and the Annual Luck. We can go down to month, day and hour luck but that would be too complicated.

How each component plays their part to our lives? Well, Destiny chart determines who we are at birth that is our parents, our relationship with our spouse, siblings, parents etc. Luck cycle will alter the level and hence the outcome of our lives.

If one has a good Bazi and luck is also good, for sure the person will have a wonderful achievements.

Ian Fleming – The Man Behind James Bond

With SPECTRE unveiled in 2015, one would wonder how is it possible that a movie that lasted more than 50 years and still very much receiving block buster status.

I have to admit, I for one is an avid fan of 007. Right from Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and now Daniel Craig, I have always enjoyed every one of them.

It makes me wonder how did his creator carve out such an iconic character and story, what’s in his Bazi Astrology Chart that says he is such an creative person?

Let’s try to understand his creator, Mr Ian Fleming. Ian was born on 28 May 1908 midnight according to this site, http://www.astrotheme.com/astrology/Ian_Fleming.

If I translate into a Bazi Chart, the chart below is what we will get.

BaZi – Self Examination Tool

Essentially this is one of the key role of Bazi Astrology. Our destiny is made up of 5 Elements reacting with each other in a defined manner taking into consideration of Yin-Yang factors that mould us into who we are.
Life cannot be in perfect balance since with 5 elements it is always hard to balance. Thus you have something, other things will be lacking.

Bazi Missing Element

Most schools teaches students that one must balance the chart. Thus when the Day Master is weak, he needs to be strengthened and vice versa. When one, chart is balanced, we can then say, that is a good Bazi chart. As one celebrity master said, a chart with all 5 elements is a balanced chart and thus a better Bazi Chart. This in turn will be reflected in the person’s life that is called a good life or destiny chart.

Bazi Balancing

This often raise 2 eyebrows. First is the common question is, “What if I don’t have all 5 elements than am I having a bad Bazi chart?”. Well there are many unsuccessful people who has all 5 elements in their Bazi Chart and same time there are some successful people who only have 2 major elements while the other 3 are just minor traces of element.

The 5 Elements of Bazi vs The Wonders of Nature

What is Nature?  According to the Oxford dictionary, Nature means physical power causing all material phenomena.  And how is Bazi related to Nature?  In this case, we have to go back to ancient times where Classical Bazi was founded 5000 years ago in China.  During those times, of course life was very simple and it only revolved around nature, nothing else.   Ancient people used the natural resources nature had to offer during different seasons as a means of survival.  And that is how Classical Bazi was founded.  It is about how seasons affect nature, based on the 10 types of Nature which comprised of 5 Elements and their Yin and Yang aspect, and their interactions.

Let us talk about Nature in relation to the 5 Elements.  Extracted from Master Benson’s book ‘The Correct Way Of Understanding A Person’s Destiny’ –  “We know that the sun (Bing Fire) can warm the sea (Ren Water) and provide food for the plants (Yi Wood).  Water is needed to grow the environment with the help of the sun.  Without the sun, cold water cannot grow the environment.

Why Is Bazi So Difficult To Read?

In our years of learning, sharing, teaching Bazi or Phat Chee or 4 Pillars which ever name you call it, we find one very interesting dilemma faced by students from diverse schools and some even who have completed very high level of study, still many ask this question,  “Why am I still having difficulty even in starting to read let alone reading Bazi?”.

To those who to our website, we have some affinity and I hope to share some of our experiences as well as experience from Master Benson Yeo.

Master Benson has spent many years studying the art of Bazi reading and he is one of the very few, I would say talented in this field. He maybe far from being famous but he is one of the very few capable Bazi Master that we have come across. We only can say that we are happy and honoured to have learn and benefited from his findings and teachings.

One reason many students cannot read Bazi is a distorted understanding of the Basics of the Art of Bazi. For example, many mix up the strength of Day Master and Strength of the Day Master Element. Once this understanding is in your way, it will be difficult to understand what’s instill in life for us. There are many concepts in Bazi that most people learn in current market has mixed up all and becomes confusing to students.
