Bazi is one of the major Five Arts in Chinese Metaphysics under the destiny banner. The others are physiognomy, medicine, mountain and divination. The sages of old should be commended for their ingenious creation and bannering the Five Arts as a tool to help us living a more holistic, fulfilling and hopefully a harmonious life.
Destiny – whether it is Bazi or Zi Wei Dou Shu (ZWDS) or any similar arts for providing an overall view of our life mission, capacity and up and downs in our life journeys.
Physiognomy – example, Feng Shui to help us in tapping the right energy from the universe that can benefit our well being like a good health.
Mountain – that includes chi kung and martial art exercise to keep us in healthy and fit condition physically
Medicine – involve the likes of acupuncture, herbal treatment to balance our health, promoting healing in our quest for a healthy body and graceful aging process
And finally, Divination – as a tool to guide us in times where we need to face the unknown and requiring guidance
If we review the Five Arts all as a unit together, you will notice a similarity in the structure of the arts despite different purposes. That is, they share the same basics, philosophy that defines the Chinese culture and the concept of harmony and balance in life.
In modern time, the art has been sub divided into additional components, including utilising divination or destiny art for Feng Shui purposes. And some even promoted a sub system of Date selection/ activation for day to day activities.
Winnie Hsin 辛曉琪 is a Taiwanese singer who shot into fame at a much late age for a singer. She became famous because of one song 味道 (Scent) in 1994. Ever since then her singing career life was transformed.
She is well known for her clear and high pitch voice. If you listen to her song below you will agree that she has pretty good voice. To be a famous singer you ought to have a talent and it may it be a good voice, dancing skill and couple with a good look. Otherwise it will be just another William Hung.
So was Destiny made at birth or learned along the years? Then you have to think about voice & looks, are these qualities in born thing or can be made?. This is where I disagree with Contemporary Bazi school that destiny can be made by simply taking actions and being positive. I am not saying they don’t matter but rather over rated like a miracle pill. An unrealistic hope is like a dead end tunnel.
In 1994 she was already 31 when she got her fame. For most singers in Taiwan back then it is considered a late boomer in the industry. How come a person with a considerable good voice did not make it earlier if just by working hard and being positive could have not done the job? Lingering behind is the work of Destiny or rather in her case the Major Luck cycle.

Since the last time I have written about Donald Trump perhaps the time has come again for the Americans to choose their new president this year.
Donald Trump lost the lower house to the Democrats in 2018 as predicted in my last article, which then lead to the attempt to impeach him form office. However it failed as the senate is controlled by his party the Republicans. This quite an obvious and expected outcome. Come 2020 in the midst of the Corona virus (Code name: Covid-19) and now American deaths tops the world chart surpassing 200,000 deaths. Can this shift the balance of power away from him? Will this election result change the course of direction of the virus on America?
Can Trump’s 2016 rhetoric of “Making America Great Again” slogan work the second time now that unemployment is at it’s highest as well as the bear down of the Dow, losing technology edge (5G) to a once a very poor nation like China convince Americans that this is the way forward? Of course he tries very hard to shift the focus but will it work again? Can he win his 2nd term ? What can astrology provide the hint?
Facing him this round is likely to be Joe Biden the former Vice President after Bernie Sanders has decided not to pursue further his candidacy. What can Joe bring to the table for the ordinary Joe as well as corporate America? What is the ground sentiments? Can Joe Biden (Democrats) de throne Donald Trump?
What is the definition of Useful God (UG) in the study of Bazi?
Useful God is the most important element in a Bazi or to the destiny. It is the element that makes the Day Master most useful. There are few categories of Useful God and each have their inherent role in the chart but still collectively they are referred to as Useful God or in short UG because they makes the chart good or as in a high quality chart.
A high quality chart will have a UG and this translate to a person having the capability to rise to the top or make it big in life. A bad Bazi chart will usually not have UG and thus it translate to a medium achieving person. Then worse still one has Annoying or Offending God or Ji Shen in the chart or luck, you can imagine how bad things can go.
So from here you can deduce that since it is the most important element in a chart, it must be protected at all times just like how you will protect your dearest or assets.
Happiness God 喜神
While some schools call it favourable god, I would call it the Happiness God because this is also the secondary UG. Its role is to makes the chart “happy” and that would translate to happy events coming in real life.
Having Happiness God in one’s chart is also a positive thing and will raise the gradation of the chart.
Once a student shared with me an confession of a forumer who had a sad story behind and being a teacher and consultant in Chinese Metaphysics, I can really feel her frustrations. Perhaps this feeling is all too familiar to you as well.
I can feel the anger and disappointment because after spending so much time and money yet, one still cannot read Bazi. If you are about to give up, don’t yet, that is because you have not met the right teacher….Read On…
Hello everyone! I have had four different people, with different BaZi training look at my chart; and I have received very different advice based on each reading. One advisor put my DM as Ren (which would match the following day’s DM, likely because I was born between the 23:00-1:00 window). One put my time of birth at 22:35 because of daylight savings. One said I was a weak DM; and one said I was strong. As such, I’ve been advised to work in a team by one, and independently by another. I’ve gotten literally opposite advice on almost all counts.
All too common, when you are lost and starting to ask around, hoping to have a clearer picture of whats going on all you get is all different answers? In this modern world of commercialization, Bazi courses is dished out by influential schools leading to this predicament because of the lack of personalized training. All are done in mass courses and the quality of students are not well monitored. Let’s listen on to her predicament;
