Hour Pillar In BaZi

Determining the correct Hour to use in BaZi has been controversial for decades.

Sometimes lay man ask me aren’t all BaZi the same? Of course not! There are many controversies involved in the art of BaZi and hour pillar discussion is just one of them.

Maybe we can talk about Year, Month and Day pillars from different schools of BaZi next time.

This separates a high repeatability vs a low repeatability system and this is the greatest source of frustration for all BaZi students and enthusiast.

There are many different theories, so just let me list out some of the common ones and if you anything beyond this list, let us know, we will love to hear from you.

Adjust to Beijing Hour
Use Local Official Hour
Compensate for Government adjusted Hour
Use Local Solar Hour
Adjust to Daylight time.
Use Later and Early Rat Hour.

I am a very practical person, what every theory that one master forwards, surely he has his reasons behind.

Let me quote one Taiwan master that promotes the use of Local Solar hour because his argument was that in the old days, people measure time using the sun, thus we should calculate it back to Solar time. This will involve some knowledge and formulas that is too complicated for most people but thanks to technology, some Bazi software allows this to be accomplished quite easily.

His explanation sounds logical to you?

My take has always been the same approach in Bazi or in my Feng Shui practice, the prove of the pie is in the eating. Which method can consistently prove to me the accuracy of reading, is the system I will adopt and thus the birth of Nature’s Way BaZi.

All this, I haven’t added in the complication of which is the Career Palace!

Let’s take Kamala Harris BaZi for example, she was born on 20 Oct 1964 at 9:28pm which technically falls under the Hai (Pig) Hour and she will be 60 years old this year.

If you use the various hour systems I have listed above, there will be about 3 different BaZi charts. But lets leave that for another time. For now just focus on the Local Solar hour vs Official hour.

There you go, two charts with different hour pillar that changes the dynamics of the 5 elements.

Geng Xu Hour – will make her chart strong in Earth and Metal.

Xin Hai Hour – will make her chart strong in Wood and Water while marginally some fine metal.

She won the Vice Presidency in the year of Geng Zi (庚子) during the luck of Wu Chen (戊辰) that started in 2018 & now in the year of Jia Chen (甲辰) will she stand a chance to be the President of United States?

I have predicted that Joe will win back then and he did! How did I arrived to this conclusion requires a systematic approach to BaZi by first understanding the Nature of the person’s Bazi!
