A Life Detour

A very short post here to relate a real story of 2 clients whom had earlier gotten bazi reading from other masters. Later this two clients came for a BaZi consultation session with us.

Case 1

Claire (not her real name) was told she had bad career and money wont come easily. When Claire met me, I told her the exact opposite and that her 10 year money luck is expiring soon. Upon hearing this she related the story of the first master to me. I told her you just need to answer me and yourself if you did well the last 10 years? She said yes because she did made a lot of money luck. Now she has re-energized herself to better make use of the last few years of money luck.

She was puzzled and ask me how come same art of Bazi but 2 extreme interpretation. Finally she became my student to better understand her destiny.

Wealth & Career

I am often being asked on the topic of Wealth and Career. Are they the same subject?

From my years doing consulting, I can say no although to most people they are closely linked. Let’s define what is meant by Career in Bazi.

Career

Career is basically our work or what we do for a living. We may be a businessman, a CEO, a manager, doctor, engineer, lawyer, politician, police officer, banker, scammer, pimp, dancer, singer, teacher and so on. Thus in Bazi this can be anything ranging from Parallel 比劫, Output 食傷, Wealth 财, Officer 官 or Stamp 印.

From this earnings we create our wealth correct? Yes this sounds very logical.

Wealth

On the other hand, wealth is usually tied to money, gold, shares ownership or assets. It also mean the ability to accumulate wealth or retain wealth. In Bazi, technically it is known as Cai God or Wealth God. Yes literally wealth god 财神.

The wealth can be further defined as Zheng Cai 正财or Proper Wealth and Pian Cai 偏财 or Alternative Wealth. It basically tells us the way we gather wealth. However the definition is very wide and not limited to legal or illegal money or earnings.

In the old days, things were simple and easy to define. Nowadays due to stress and lifestyle desires some people take up 2 jobs or perhaps a job with one side gig like share investing, bitcoin, a part time professional gambler, gym instructor, painter etc.

I remember a client who eventually became my student, once showed me the Bazi and ask me or rather you can say test me, how do you see my wealth?

Feasting God Performer

Terence Choi Kwok-Kuen 蔡國權

He was a singer in Hong Kong in the early 80’s right till about for a decade before he decided to call it quits.

Perhaps you call it Timing, 80’s was the time of mega stars of Alan Tam, Leslie Cheung and Sam Hui, Anita Mui etc. It was the peak time of Hong Kong entertainment industry and when Terence got into it. I have blogged about Leslie and Sam Hui Bazi but Terence life story was interesting and worth looking at his Bazi to understand life and destiny better.

Terence Choi

Being at the Wrong Era….

The new age thought is that man has FULL control of his life or destiny. Is it true? or to some religious centrist, life is in the hands of their Gods. Perhaps Chinese astrology tool of BaZi may give us some clue of our future and destiny. Let’s see how it has shaped Terence life.

Towards the 90’s he reclused himself to a song writer and have written a few songs for Alan Tam, Paula Tsui, Jacky Cheung, Kenny Bee to mention a few. Then after leaving Hong Kong for some years, he decided to make a come back to the music industry in around 2002 and had planned a solo concert in 2003.

Never thought that in 2002, he met with a serious accident in Dongguan China which left him paralyzed and suffer from brain damaged. Even his wife left him after that fatal accident on 13 November 16:30. Life had not been easy for him ever since then.

Improper Resource or Alternative Seal

Alternative Seal is also called by some schools as Indirect Resource but the actual term in Chinese is Pian Yin (偏印). It’s counterpart is known as Zheng Yin (正印)  or Righteous Seal or some schools call it Direct Resource.

Resource is the element that produces the Day Master in the 5 elements of Production cycle but due to the Yin – Yang polarity they are accorded the title of Righteous (Zheng) and Alternative (Pian) accordingly. In some school of thought, Improper Resource is said to be less preferred than the Proper resource since Zheng usually gives a more upright, moral and good side picture while Pian usually gives the more scheming, cunning or less law abiding image. Pian 偏 in Chinese usually brings about the idea of  an “illegal” connotation.

However, in my opinion this thinking is very regimental.

Qi Sha 七殺 In BaZi

A modern Bazi practitioner will probably will hear of this term Qi Sha or translated literally as Seven Killings. Qi Sha carries a very negative connotation at least to some schools of Bazi. It usually being depicted as meaning legal issues, accidents, disasters, death, danger, health issues coming.

I always have half past six enthusiast coming perplexing about Qi Sha. So perhaps I should write something on this blog to clear a little although many probably will still be happy living a little stressed.

Lets Define Qi Sha in the Context of 10 Gods

Qi Sha is the element or God that controls the Day Master and yas the same Yin Yang polarity as the Day Master. So for example for a Jia 甲 Wood day master the Qi Sha element is the Geng 庚 Metal. Another example would be for a Gui 癸 Water day master the Qi Sha element is the Ji 己 Earth.

BaZi Learning

Here is a BaZi chart of a young man named PJ. Many students of BaZi will it difficult to start reading a BaZi. Why?

After all the books and study, the big questions now is how do we apply into reading? This is always the most frustrating part of Bazi reading and also the reason why many gave up reading. “Better to pay someone to read and later I can ask some technical questions” is usually at the back of their mind.

Well it doesn’t work this way because there are many schools of Bazi Astrology, my dear! You may end up more confused.

HOUR   DAY   MONTH   YEAR

–                         乙.            甲

–              未.          亥.            子

The, a little more senior would first try to read the Ding 丁 Fire Day Master, try to figure out if he is strong or a weak Day Master. Then they will probably see, if the Day Master is strong, then his favourable elements will be Output (Eating God or Hurting Officer) and Wealth (Direct or Indirect Wealth). If the Day master is classified as Weak or called a Weak Day Master, then the favourable element will be Resource or Parallel (Friends or Rob Wealth). Officer will somehow be dependent if it is to be classified as favourable or otherwise.

Hurting Officer A Trilogy

In the study of Bazi, one of the most common tool of reading is known as the 10 Gods. The 10 Gods represents certain relationship between others and us. Of course in the lingo of Bazi, us equates to the Day Master.

Hurting Officer is one of the most talked about in the reading of 10 Gods in Bazi.  Hurting Officer is the classified as Output of the Day Master but with a Different Polarity. Output here simply means the element produced by the Day Master while polarity means Yin – Yang Polarity.

Thus if a person is born as a Jia 甲 Day Master, Hurting officer is represented by the element Ding 丁.

HURTING OFFICER (伤官)

Hurting officer (HO) is given the term is probably due to the reason this element hurts the Officer (官). Guan 官 in Chinese language usually means someone of authority or an executioner of a law or law enforcement officer or minister or in short a public officer etc. If you see the chart below, the Hurting Officer actually controls the Officer.

So if I use an example of a Ren Day Master, The HO will be represented by Yi wood. The Officer is by definition the element that controls the Day Master. Thus in this case it is the Earth element represented by Wu and Ji.

Relationship Analysis – What it says about your marriage

If you would like to know more about your love life or relationship, look no further than your own Bazi destiny chart which is derived from your birth date and time.  It holds the key to finding Mr Right and Ms Right.  Or if you have already tied the knot, are you happily married or otherwise?  What does your Bazi destiny chart say?

Marriage Bazi

First, we look at the quality of the Spouse Star.  For a man, we look at the Wealth star as this represents the wife and girlfriends.  For a female, we look at the quality of the Influence/Power star as these stars represent the husband and boyfriends.  If the spouse star is of good quality and is favourable to the Day Master, we can conclude that he or she can easily find somebody, especially if the spouse star is located at the Stem next to the Day Master, or Day Branch, and the relationship will generally be good.

Secondly, the Spouse Palace plays a very important part in determining the relationship with the spouse.  If the “Useful God” or “Noble Element” is in the spouse palace, we can say that the person will receive support from his/her spouse and will get a lucky house when the time is right.  He/She will becomes lucky once married and will enjoy good marriage and the spouse will generally be good and supportive.  However, the Spouse Palace should NOT have clash or combination, otherwise there will be relationship problems.
