There has been a hot debate and apparently two struggles in the current BaZi market and that is between the traditionalist and contemporary practitioners. Of course over the years of effort, I am happy to note that the Traditional school has once been given more attention.

I attribute this to a few reasons. Many of my clients actually became my students over time. I think this is one of the strongest testimony of the ability of the Traditional school in particular this Nature’s Way of BaZi, how it has helped them over the years. They usually consult me more than one chart so it is not a fluke shot thing but rather there is repeatability of the result.

This is what the old saying of Actions speaks louder than Words! Need no marketing, they join the classes because they have seen it with their eyes. Same goes for our Feng Shui classes.

A Hope

Second reason, I believed is because the contemporary school leans too much into motivation. It is good to give people hope and I support that but what people need is more than just hope. They need the truth!

Sometimes contemporary falsely blinded themselves. This is the joke of the modern Bazi. Some masters have good Bazi but because he/she is not well versed in traditional Bazi, this made them believed they have bad Bazi but somehow in reality, they are successful. How do even you reconcile this? Motivation or learned new skills!

Thus out of this they conclude that traditional way of Bazi reading is out, with proper motivation and learned skills anyone can succeed big time. If you are reading this and you have joined some of these BaZi schools, ask yourself honestly, how many of those around you or perhaps yourself have changed tremendously over the years?

If what they think is correct, then why do I want to learn BaZi? Just hire a business or success coach and make me successful. Why spend time and money into BaZi then in the end I would still have to motivate myself and acquire some new skills in HOPE of being successful?

FRUSTRATION AND SALVATION IN BAZI READING

Since the introduction of the internet, people are now more connected than ever before. In the past, a letter may take weeks or months to reach another person in another country. Today, it only require mere seconds. In the past, Chinese Metaphysics is a “recluse” learning subject but with advancement of internet and technology, it is now becoming more accessible to the public. People are able to converse, discuss and “spar” online on any subject and in this particular instance destiny reading / Bazi subject.

Of interest of today’s article is a Bazi chart below that has appeared under different pseudo names in different forums for at least the last 18 months.

From what can be gathered through the communications on the forums, the owner of this chart is a student of a World renown Chinese Metaphysics teacher / grand master. Since completing the course, it appears to me he is still attempting to seek guidance to determine if his chart is a special chart. In addition to that, historical forum threads indicated he has been attempting to understand why his career, marriage and wealth prospects are average. Despite various analysis by forum experts, I don’t believe to date that anyone have answered the owner’s questions to his satisfaction and his quest continues. I can relate to his frustration as Bazi study can be a frustrating exercise but yet satisfying when you able to get it right.

Leonardo Di Caprio

You probably know him from the movie Titanic (1997) or perhaps The Aviator or Blood Diamond. In Malaysia, he is famous for the The Wolf of Wall Street as it is linked to the infamous 1MDB case here.  Today I want to talk a little about him and how his success was imprinted in his BaZi since the time he was born. I think it is now timely to publish this blog post after sitting in the draft cabinet for so long.

After 6 nominations since 2003 only in 2016 he finally gets the Best Actor Oscar for the movie The Revenant …Why? The answer is in the timing from the luck cycle and year.

From the Bazi perspective why is going to be this Luck and This Year? If you look at Leo’s Bazi, he has a very strong Useful God 用神 but unfortunately this Useful God is somewhat being weakened in his natal chart.

Born 6 May 1953, 6:10am in the United Kingdom, never did he or his parents would know that he one day will be the Prime Minister of UK for 2 terms. Was the story told on his day of birth? This is where BaZi Astrology triumph.

BaZi basically means the 8 Characters in Chinese which actually translate our Date & Time of Birth into Chinese Calendar format and from there we can read our Destiny but it is the Luck Cycle that we determine when it will happen.

Ten Thousand Year Calendar

The Season or Jie was changed itself on the 6 May but at 3:53am which is why it makes it Ding Si 丁巳 Month.

However, some software would have had him born in the month of Bing Chen or the Fire Dragon. The error happens because software uses mathematical algorithm to calculate. So depending on the algorithm used by the developer, in situation where it’s near the transition month, these errors are likely to happen.

Korean Presidency

While cleaning up the page, I stumbled and old draft that has slipped my mind for more than one half years. The Korean Presidency has been in a series of scandal one after another. Is it a cultural thing or was it due to the other factors?

The most recent problem fell on to the first women president South Korea ever had. Let’s take a look at her Bazi and see what we get out of it.

Park Geun Hye 2/2/52 Pig hour (to be verified)

She is the 11th president of South Korea and the first women President in 2013 Gui Wei 癸未. Here is her BaZi Chart.

President of South Korea why was she was embroiled in a scandal caused by her friend that lead to her impeachment.?

It was in the year of the Fire Rooster 丁酉, 2017, she was impeached and pending trial. On 6 April 2018, South Korean courts sentenced Park to 24 years in prison which was later increased to 25 years. Park is currently imprisoned at Seoul Detention Center.

If one were to access her Bazi, one will see why she is able to hold the position of a president. With so many noble elements indicates very quickly she has a good Bazi. Thus true to the Chinese saying 1. Destiny 2. Luck 3. Feng Shui….,

With a good Bazi or natal chart, she will be able succeed in life. Thus I am not surprised that she can make it big in life. If one does not have a good destiny, one can work 24/7 yet the results can be mediocre.

He left home at age thirteen to be educated at Menlo School in Atherton, California.

Divorced Rich

The name Jeff Bezos is synonymous with Amazon.com. Just this year of the Earth Dog or Wu Xu the biggest news is about the couple going for a divorce. The couple, Jeff and Mackenzie came a long way, to be exact 25 years of marriage. You can call it a Silver Jubilee.

According to the Forbes.com, I qoute here :


Bezos, worth an estimated $136.2 billion, is the richest person in the world. It is not yet clear how the divorce will impact his net worth, or whether it will affect his stake in Amazon, the e-commerce giant he founded in 1994. 

The couple had an interesting start on how they met and got married.
They were married in 1993, after meeting at D.E. Shaw & Co. Shortly afterward they relocated to Seattle to found Amazon, where MacKenzie Bezos was an early employee.

And the very reason he fell in love with her was once he qouted “All day long I listened to that fabulous laugh,” he told Vogue. “How could you not fall in love with that laugh?”

Why Marriage Fails?

The one thing that attracted him was, Jeff said, he knew from the beginning that he wanted to marry a resourceful person. Can we see a resourceful person from their destiny chart? We shall watch the video later.

Apparently, it was MacKenzie who made the first move and asked Jeff out to lunch. They were engaged within three months and married within six. Amazingly quick I would say, isn’t it?

Old Thoughts of BaZi

In the old days the father is usually very concerned about the Bazi of each child and especially if the child is a son because the son is going to inherit the wealth in old Chinese tradition. But then back then there were no Cesarean procedure and thus they had to rely on actual birth date and time to obtain the Bazi analysis.

The father will engage the master to decipher the son’s Bazi if this son is going to be favor him or bring unfavorable luck to him. Fast forward to modern times, where there is Cesarean procedure available and where son or daughters carries similar status, parents still are anxious to know if that child is going to bring him luck or cause his business empire a downfall. So while somethings changed over the centuries, some old thoughts still remains till today.

Does Cesarean Birth Selection work?

I will blog about it sometime in the future. Before we even touch on such complicated subject, lets spend a short moment to think about the old views or thoughts in this modern world.

Thus if the master says this son is unfavorable for the father, thus the usual recommendation is the have the child sent far away to stay with a relative or sent overseas to boarding schools as soon as they can. Some will say to “give” the son away by way of having a god father or god mother to the child.

If the son is favourable to the father, needless to say he will enjoy all the love, money and future will inherit the biggest portion of the inheritance. I have a friend who only have the photo of the younger daughter in his facebook because it was after the birth of this child, his wealth grew steadily.

So what is my thoughts based on my understanding on BaZi as a tool for Destiny analysis since I am practitioner and teacher of this art?

BaZi is an astrology art based on the Date and Time of birth and this would be seen as being static or fixed till the day we leave this world. So how does one reconcile the fact our life is dynamic and not static nor carved in stones?

I have always believed that destiny can be Altered but not Changed and how would we know if that actions we took in the past is going to change our live? So mother nature will always send a messenger. His messenger can be your wife, your child, your boss and the list goes on. Thus from the BaZi of your spouse, we can see your life and that goes the same for your child. These messenger will influence your destiny henceforth.

A Real BaZi Case Study

This chart shows his eldest son will be someone who will make it in life but not so much for the other children. This was given to the son since he was born via the father’s chart. If your Bazi skills is authentic, you should be able to spot it.

Major Luck Cycle

Chinese say that Destiny is first while Luck comes second whilst Feng shui comes in only third. 一命二运三风水

Destiny can be read from our Natal Chart 命盘 while Luck cycle changes every 10 years. Thus the role of Major Luck 大运 is second to Destiny indicates it’s importance and significance in our lives. Sometimes we may be born with an average destiny but with a favourable luck cycle, life can be as fulfilling as well.

Of course this comes with a time limit since each luck cycle only last 10 years. Some people have major luck that last 20 years and I have seen some with as long as 40 years or 4 cycles. Most people takes about 3 years to earn their first million so a good luck cycle is enough to make your first bucket of gold. The rest is up to how you want make good use of the wealth.

So how significant is the effect of a Major Luck Cycle can have on us?
